Meet Friday: your personal AI assistant for everyday work

Meet Friday, your desktop AI assistant for documents, research, code, and media, with your own files and the AI providers you choose.

A project rarely stays inside one kind of task. You read a brief, research a question, update a document, and create something to share. Friday brings an assistant and the tools for that work into one desktop app.

Start with a request in plain language. Ask Friday to edit a document, explore a topic, help with code, or create images, audio, and video. It works with your files and the services you configure, with tool activity visible in the conversation.

Start with a real task

Give the assistant a useful starting point: a file, a project folder, or a question with a clear outcome. For example:

  • “Read this project brief and draft a checklist of the next steps.”
  • “Research this topic and save a summary with links to the sources.”
  • “Inspect this code and explain the changes needed to add this feature.”
  • “Create an image for this article using the attached brief.”

These are starting points for a conversation. Add the context the task needs, review tool activity as work progresses, and check the result before using it.

Choose the providers behind your work

Your preferred chat model may be different from your preferred voice or image service. Friday lets you configure providers for different kinds of work, including chat, voice, media, and search.

That choice lives alongside the task. You can move between conversations, agent settings, coding tools, and installed Apps as your project takes shape. The provider guide explains how to set up the services you want to use.

Keep your context close

Conversation history stays on your device, with no Friday cloud account required. When a task uses an external model, search engine, or connected tool, the inputs it needs go to that service.

You can also give the assistant context to reuse: saved facts and preferences, project instructions, relevant material in a knowledge base, and a wiki you can review. That means less time repeating the background each time you return to a project.

Add tools when you need them

Dedicated Apps provide interfaces for particular tasks. MCP servers connect additional tools and services. Skills capture instructions for workflows you repeat. Start with the work in front of you and extend your setup as your needs grow.

Friday is available in public beta for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Visit the homepage for the desktop download, follow the getting started guide, or read how to extend your assistant.
